UGM Students Launch Semar, Energy Efficient Cars

Detik - Yogyakarta - Students from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, University of Gadjah Mada (UGM) has launched energy efficient cars and environmentally friendly.

The car is named Semar, is targeted to have traveled the distance 1000 km or the equivalent distance between Anyer-Panarukan by using only 1 liter of gasoline.

The plan the car will be included in the event the Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) in the 2010 Asia Sepang circuit, Malaysia on 8-10 July 2010.

The launch is today at the University Center building (UC) University of Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta, Wednesday (17/3/2010).

Witnessed by hundreds of students, energy-efficient cars it tested around the UGM Boulevard and then the wine around the city of Yogyakarta to the North Alun Alun.
